Nakajima B5N Kate replica built for the movie Tora Tora Tora
When the movie Tora Tora Tora was made there were no surviving Kates anywhere in the world. To solve the problem the movie company had replicas built by combining the front portion of North American AT6 trainers, a custom built center extensions and the rear portion of a Vultee BT-13 trainers. With additional modification these aircraft resembled the Nakajima B5N. Some of the aircraft were assembled in California by Stewart Davis and Cal-Volair. Others were assembled in Japan by Kawasaki.
